Project Description
The purpose of this project was to work with the Ngā Puna Wai Trust and sport partners to review the initial Stage 2 Masterplan, resulting in an updated Sport Partners Review Concept 2025, which provides a sports-led, cohesive spatial strategy to respond to current and future needs.
RSL's Role
RSL, with the support of MODE Architecture, used a sports-led process to ensure that the views, needs and aspirations of the sport partners were captured into a key strategic document. RSL led engagement with key stakeholders to identify issues and future opportunities. RSL analysed and themed these issues and opportunities into a spatial considerations brief for MODE architects. Options were developed, reviewed and tested with sports partners and the Ngā Puna Wai Trust Board.
Project Outcome
The report and associated visual documentation (developed by MODE) provide a vision for future prioritisation to help guide the future spatial development of the Ngā Puna Wai site. It identifies a series of proposed changes, including core infrastructure enhancements, recreation and community activation opportunities, and sports partner-focused enhancements. It provides the basis for future Ngā Puna Wai Trust Board advocacy.
