Project Description
This Plan builds on the foundations and learning from previous spaces and places reports across the whole of Waitaha and Te Tai Poutini (the Sport Canterbury rohe). The Plan covers 12 territorial authority areas, across the largest geographical area, and includes the most partners of any regional spaces and places plan in New Zealand.
RSL's Role
RSL led delivery of the project, with direction and guidance provided by a regional Project Steering Group. Key project components included partner and stakeholder engagement, data and strategic analysis, facility gap and oversupply analysis, prioritisation and development of recommendations.
Project Outcome
The Plan provides a regional planning approach to support play, active recreation and sport facility planning. It provides a range of insights and refreshed recommendations to help guide the future approach to regional, collaborative planning for spaces and places.
