Selwyn District Council
Selwyn District Council (SDC) has for several years collected participation data from key sports. This information is used to assist with decision-making around future provision, allocation and optimisation of sports fields and indoor and outdoor courts, particularly during preparation of SDC’s long term plans.
SDC engaged RSL Consultancy (RSL) to undertake this process on its behalf in 2020 and in 2023. RSL was asked to provide advice on the most effective collection and recording methods while updating the participation numbers. Information about recent trends and a high-level participation prediction was provided for 18 codes in the district.
