Project Description

The purpose of the project was to identify key opportunities, challenges, and possible solutions that the community can work on to help improve rangatahi participation in play, active recreation and sport in South Invercargill.

RSL's Role

RSL worked in partnership with Active Southland to identify ways to improve access and affordability to play, active recreation and sport for rangatahi in South Invercargill. RSL was responsible for analysis and theming stakeholder feedback, development of options for testing with community stakeholders and project partners in workshops.

Project Outcome

A roadmap for improving participation in play, active recreation and sport for rangatahi living in South Invercargill was created. It starts with strengths, looking to amplify what is already working, as well as identifying potential opportunities to help address current issues and barriers. The roadmap outlines a suite of opportunities for community organisations to focus on to create change in rangatahi activity levels.
