Project Description
The Northland Aquatics Plan identified a shortage of available water space in Kaipara Central. Sport Northland therefore commissioned this pre-feasibility report to investigate options to increase access to water space in the Otamatea area.
RSL’s Role
Investigations were mainly focussed on the potential community use of two school facilities in the area: Otamatea High School and Maungaturoto Primary School. The study provided high-level direction as to how these two pools could offer increased community access.
Project Outcome
A range of options, including pool covers, a covered structure, a new learn to swim pool and increased community access, were identified to increase water access for the Otamatea community.
